Lena has been our property manager for quite a few years. I should say Lena is a Senior Property Manager - her time in the industry, professionalism, expertise & knowledge of the RTB act shows in how she thoroughly manages our investment property to get the best outcome. Her pleasant & helpful nature is evident & nothing is too much trouble when ever any issues come up. I have peace of mind that our investment property is managed to the highest standard.

I had a terrible experience renting through InStyle. Particularly due to the property manager, Lena. I moved into a property that was in an atrocious state. The property had rubbish throughout and left in a dirty condition, especially the kitchen (oven), air vents and bathrooms. There was no solution put in place to rectify my health concerns. I was left with no option other than to clean the property I just moved into out of my own time and costs. When I vacated the property Lena tried to take money from my bond without adequate reasoning, despite the property being left in a much better state than it was when I first occupied. It’s appalling that some agents try to take financial advantage of tenants, especially in the current crisis we’re in. Further to this, I was told by other agents that Lena had lied on reference checks. Making it difficult to find a new property. Despite Lena telling me herself that I was “an amazing tenant”. If you want a fair chance, with an easily contacted agent, and your bond back without issues do not rent through InStyle.

I rented through InStyle for over a year and a half and dealt with Joseph. He was very helpful in assisting me with issues with needing to find a property in a new area (I needed more time to find a suitable place in a crazy and challenging rental market). He gave extra time at the end of my lease, and as a result I was able to find somewhere without having to sign another long term lease. He was also very easy going and understanding. Thank you

Terrible experience with the property manager Lena. She has provided misleading feedback on our rental profile and that caused us lots of stress to find a rental property in this tough market. Don’t trust these guys if you are a tenant. We’ve been renting a house for four years with no issue at all but got kicked out when Lena took over. Always double check with the agents you are renting from to make sure all the questions answered truthfully because this lady won’t be answering any questions at all. Very frustrating…

Many have asked why I chose InStyle, and it's because of the great Google Reviews but mainly they are a Property Management only firm. Meaning, they don't sell properties and do this as a side revenue to their business.In moving interstate, I was really intent on having our family home taken care of by professionals whilst leasing it out. I always stated from the outset that we plan to return. In my consultation with the InStyle Property Manager, I was assured this is the reason they are in business i.e. looking after properties.We have since found out that our InStyle Property Manager, who covered North East Adelaide and a Co-Director, was inexperienced and lacked professionalism. We didn't receive our first 2 rental inspection reports, and when we called his response was "InStyle only provides it if there are adverse findings". I thought it was odd, but trusted the InStyle reputation.Then, we had multiple complaints from the gardener that the tenancy was not being properly managed and there was a dog on site - unbeknownst to me. This is when I called the property manager to discuss, and seek remediation. After multiple calls and messages to remind him to contact the gardener (whom at this stage raised their heightened concerns of our property condition), his ultimate response was "what would you like me to do and say to the tenants?" I was annoyed, but also realised I was locked into a term contract.I thought it may have been a isolated issue or the gardener may have gotten it wrong so I raised it with the InStyle Head Office. Outlining all of my concerns, and experience with our InStyle Property Manager. They were "taken back" by my feedback, but I could also gauge that this was something they were aware of in the background. To alleviate my concerns, as I told them I was going to leave, they miraculously presented me with my second inspection report and Cc'd me in all communication with the property manager.Eventually, after a year a bit of being with InStyle, I had enough. I called the office, relayed all my concerns once again and advised them I am ready to leave and have many strong referrals for alternate managers. However, I didn't believe in posting bad feedback on small businesses so wanted a right of reply. I was PROMISED earnestly to have my interim Property Manager, which was news to me, to call the following Monday. It was a Thursday.A week goes by, and I go to cancel my contract with InStyle as a promise was broken, after a period of frustrating service. Only to be sent an email that "WE HAVE SOLD" to a real estate company.Yes, they were in the process of selling the business when they promised to call me back, and understood I wanted to leave... I found out later via a very terse phone call they only sold the NORTH EAST RENTAL ROLL... clearly there were red flags in the company but they didn't care to look after the clients. Again, if I wanted a real estate company, I would have gone to one of the many I am presently associated with - my mistake.To make matters worse, the incoming real estate company tried to release our contract - because who wants to take on a disgruntled customer with solid grounds for their complaints? Only to be told that InStyle has sold our contract onto them with the Clause that we have pay the early termination fee.I suspect, as my husband is in business negotiations, that the incoming Real Estate Company would have asked InStyle to refund our contract amount so we could be released at no cost - it's the ethical business practice. However, I also suspect, given my experience with InStyle, they did not concern themselves with the issue.Hence, I am now riding out my contract whilst canvassing alternate Property Managers in Adelaide - even real estate ones.Take my review how you may, but I promise you I started out as a collaborative client who gave the benefit of the doubt. What this experience has taught me is being kind to small business just leaves you burnt and all the poorer for it, in every sense.
